A replaceable steel energy-dissipating connection is used to realize a reliable connection for precast beam-column joints in assembly substations, and the hysteretic behavior is essential for guaranteeing the seismic performance of the assembly substations. Two types of steel energy-dissipating connections were selected to validate the feasibility of the reliable connection between precast beams and columns within substations. The hysteretic behaviors of the replaceable energy-dissipating connection, including the M - φ characteristics, bearing capacity, stiffness degradation, energy dissipation behavior, and ductility, were investigated. The results demonstrated that the replaceable energy-dissipating connection developed a plumped hysteresis curve, high rotation capacity, excellent energy-dissipation capacity, and good ductility. The plastic damage was concentrated in the weakened flange segment of the steel connection, and the steel connection dissipated more than 70% of the total energy dissipation of the precast beam-column joint. Moreover, the hysteretic behavior of the steel energydissipating connection can easily be restored by replacing the damaged flange segments.
