This study demonstrates high selectivity in CO2 cycloaddition using hydrogen bond donors and a Lewis base.
This study developed a binary catalytic system (HBD/Lewis base) consisting of the donor ( 1, 2 ) containing urea-based functional groups and [Me(EO) 16 MIm] [I] ( 3 ), efficient cycloaddition reaction of CO 2 and SO was achieved through this system. The synthesized HBD molecular structure was confirmed to be correct through characterization methods such as 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and HR-MS, and the chemical shift of the urea group H in donors 1 and 2 was analyzed, and the influence of adjacent groups on the chemical shift of urea group H was investigated. The effect of different hydrogen bond donors on the reaction under certain conditions (1 h, 120 °C, and 1.5 MPa) was studied. Research has found that the TOF value of HBD 1 is slightly higher than that of HBD 2 , and both donors have achieved high selectivity in this reaction.
