Analysis reveals how mass flow rate and channel width affect gas flow in microchannels, suggesting implications for design.
Investigates the flow characteristics of gas through microchannels at high speed. Taking CO 2 gas as the working medium, the flow region is divided into microelement segments. With theoretical calculation, the changes of flow parameters are obtained, according to which the influencing factors of gas flow in the microchannel are analyzed. The larger the gas mass flow rate, the more significant the temperature drop. The smaller the width of the channel, the more obvious the temperature drop. When the mass flow rate is 0.5359 g/s, the inlet temperature is 14 °C, the inlet pressure is 1 MPa, and the channel width is 0.3 mm, the temperature drop in the channel reaches 33.92 °C. When the heat transfer rate is changed, with the increase of heat loss, the temperature drop increases, and the flow is less likely to be choked; under the condition of heat absorption, the greater the heat transfer rate, the greater the pressure drop, the higher the temperature at the channel outlet, and the flow is more likely to be choked.
