This review highlights synthesis methods and electrochemical performance of lithium nickel manganese oxide, indicating ongoing challenges in durability.
This article reviews the research progress on the synthesis methods and electrochemical performance of spinel‐structured lithium nickel manganese oxide (LiNi 0.5 Mn 1.5 O 4 , LNMO). LNMO has become a research hotspot for lithium‐ion battery cathode materials due to its high voltage and high energy density, but it still needs improvement in durability and high‐temperature stability. The article analyzes the impact of LNMO's microstructure, internal defects, and exposed crystal facets on its performance, and summarizes various synthesis methods and their modification techniques. Research indicates that Mn 3+ and oxygen vacancies significantly influence the electrochemical performance of LNMO. Future studies can optimize LNMO's performance by exploring different manganese sources and synthesis parameters.
