The article examines the features of the application of project technology in the process of professional training for future specialists in the social sphere. Theoretical approaches to the disclosure of such terms as «project», «project technology» were analyzed in this article. The essence, goals and objectives of projecttechnology, conditions of organizing work on the project, requirements for the application of the project method and the project itself were characterized. The main design stages were outlined. Using the example of the analysis of projects which were prepared by graduates of the «Social Work» specialty («Know your rights, child» and «Winged. Called to be the second wing»), the effectiveness of the application of project technology in the educational process of the higher education institution was demonstrated; it has been proven that the project activities of students can become a source of social transformations. The article says that the participation of students which are working on the project, helps with the formation not only professional qualities, but also personal ones (such as empathy, stress resistance, flexibility and adaptability, practical conflict resolution, intuition in evaluating people, ability to build trust, quick decision-making in difficult situations), which are important for a future specialist in the social sphere and are being developed during the activity.
