Overview of AI in geospatial analysis for public health, suggesting benefits and limitations for environmental studies.
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in processing large datasets for geospatial analysis in environmental studies is becoming increasingly important. This paper provides an overview of AI applications in presenting data from the information system of a healthcare institution in the Republic of Serbia. Through the example of creating an interactive map displaying the total number of examined patients per settlement across the entire territory of Serbia, the advantages and disadvantages of automatic generation of digital interactive maps are presented. The combination of a public healthcare institution database, open data from the Republic Geodetic Authority, ChatGPT, and the open-source software PyCharm demonstrates the possibilities and limitations of AI in data presentation and analysis. Research of this type can contribute to more complex geospatial analyses in the fields of environmental studies and medical geography.
