Recommendations outline a new state forestry board and address forest protection and management.
In December, 1941, Gov. Langlie of Washington appointed a Forest Advisory Committee to prepare a comprehensive forestry program for the state. The recommendations of that committee with respect to the major problems of forest practice, forest protection, and administrative organization are summarized in this article. Central among them is the proposal to establish a new State Forestry Board of ten members, six of whom would be appointed by the Governor for steggored terms, which would have complete authority over all forestry matters in the state.
