Analysis reveals duplication between state forestry agencies and extension service in South Carolina, suggesting improvements.
In many states there is duplication of effort not only between federal and state forestry agencies but between various state forestry agencies. In this matter the State of South Carolina was no exception. It is an exception, however, in that it recognized that there was duplication of effort in the forestry programs of the extension service and the commission of forestry and in that it remedied the situation. Foresters employed by all public agencies, state and federal, will find Mr. Bruner's discussion of interest and may find in it suggestions for avoiding or reducing duplication of forestry effort in their own states.
