Observational study examines chestnut oak reproduction following clear and partial cutting, highlighting significant differences in seedling growth.
Plots were established in 1929 in chestnut oak stands on the Clark County State Forest, Indiana, to observe behavior of 1-year seedlings of this species after 50 percent and 100 percent release and on an uncut area. Observations on the reproduction at the end of a 10-year period are reported.
