Abstract A dynamic pioneer in commercial application of recent developments in wood technology sizes up the problems ahead. His answer involves increased use of trained technicians to improve timber growth on the land, to increase output of woods and mill labor, to use wood now wasted, to put each log to its highest commercial use, and to create new forms, structures, and products from the kind of wood we have available. His refreshing outlook is evidence that imagination and daring have not disappeared from American wood products industries.
