This study evaluates the potential infection capacity of Ribes species with sugar pine, suggesting control strategies for white pine blister rust.
In controlling the white pine blister rust it is of basic importance to know the potential pine-infecting capacity of the various species of ribes that occur in association with the pines to be protected. The study herein reported was conducted to determine this for certain control units in sugar pine stands of the California Sierras. A tentative susceptibility rating is given for the species tested.
