Abstract

The purpose of this article is to highlight the topic of the emotional impact of the environment on society in the context of key research areas of contemporary urbanists. The scientific novelty of this work lies in identifying the main principles of modern urbanistic studies and the prospects for the evolution of urban planning. The article analyzes the characteristics of urban development in the 21st century. It explores the interconnection between urban planning and other scientific fields such as psychology, sociology, and economics. The interdisciplinary experience of the influence of modern technologies on humanity in general and urban planning in particular is examined. A perspective on the relationship between humans and their environment is formulated. Particular attention is given to highlighting key trends in the formation of a harmonious urban space. The article discusses the specifics of modern communication within the boundaries of a metropolis and the long-term consequences of decisions made today as essential components of the future. The practical value of the study lies in the implementation of the principles of contemporary urbanistic ideology in professional practice and in the use of the research materials for further study in the field of G17 «Architecture and Urban Planning». The article identifies significant works that shape the paradigm of modern urbanism. Current trends in urban research are analyzed. The prospects for urban development are outlined in the context of an anthropocentric approach and sustainable city development. The study forecasts new approaches to urban planning decisions based on the psychology of architecture. The main results justify the need to renew the urban environment and to create conditions for the psychological comfort of city residents through urban planning.
