Framework addresses inventory management challenges in supply chains using fuzzy and H∞ control methods.
In the context of a globalized market, this paper proposes a framework based on uncertain discrete switched systems, to address the challenges of inventory management in supply chains, specifically focusing on demand fluctuations, product life cycles, and external uncertainties. In this framework, a demand forecasting model is developed using Kalman filtering techniques, encapsulating a supplier–retailer–customer network characterized by uncertain parameters. Then, a robust state‐feedback controllers for subsystems and a common Lyapunov function (CLF) are simultaneously constructed by using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). However, arbitrary switchings may lead to overshoot phenomena or the failure to respond effectively to demand variations. To avoid these phenomena, a fuzzy control‐based switching law is constructed to ensure more stable and smoother transitions among subsystems. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed controller and switching mechanism effectively buffer the effects of external demand fluctuations and parameter uncertainties, validating the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed control approach.
