Qualitative research explores identities and power dynamics among sex workers in micro-territory, indicating complex socio-spatial relationships.
The present article is the result of an individual research conducted as a member of the Tutorial Education Program (PET) within the Geography course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). The study aimed primarily to formulate an understanding of the identities of sex workers operating in the micro-territory of Praça Gentil Ferreira, located in the Alecrim neighborhood of Natal/RN. It is worth noting that this work is predominantly qualitative in nature, and to carry it out, a literature review was conducted, field visits were made for observations, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with six participants. Regarding the observed results, we have noted the complexity of the socio-spatial relationships existing in this micro-territory concerning temporal aspects in identity formation and power dynamics with the actors within the lived space.
