The article examines the main approaches to preventing addictive behavior among adolescents and youth. Theoretical understanding of addictive behavior involves its definition and systematization of characteristics, such as dependence on substances or behaviors, mood swings, secrecy, failure to fulfill social obligations, and legal problems. As one of the forms of deviant behavior, it has a potentially destructive nature, affecting not only individual personality development but also the social and cultural dynamics of society as a whole. The article analyzes the socio-psychological approach aimed at eliminating risk conditions, forming adaptive personality traits, and fostering socially acceptable behavior; the preventive approach in the educational environment, which ensures the development of social-emotional skills, teacher training, and family and community participation; the health-preserving approach that focuses on developing healthy lifestyle skills and building physical, psychological, and social resilience; and the comprehensive approach that integrates all previous strategies, ensuring systematic, continuous, and effective preventive measures. It is determined that addictive behavior, which includes dependence on psychoactive substances, gambling, internet, and other destructive activities, is a serious social problem. It negatively affects the physical, psychological, and social well-being of an individual. Therefore, the issue of preventing addictive behavior becomes relevant in psychology and education. It is emphasized that the application of integrated prevention methods allows for the formation of stable life competencies and healthy behavior among youth, which is a key factor in preventing addictive manifestations in society.
