This design demonstrates a MIMO dielectric resonator antenna operating at 27.25-28.65 GHz, indicating its potential for n257/n258 bands.
This paper plans and inspects a MIMO dielectric resonator antenna operating in the millimeter-wave regime. Al2O3 dielectric is induced via slot coupling. Feed assembly is designed to create circular waves within the operating regime, i.e. 27.25–28.65 GHz. Orthogonal placement of antenna ports reduces the coupling level below −30 dB. A metasurface, having negative permittivity and permeability, is hanging over multi-port aerial to enhance the gain by around 11.5 dBi. The operating range is confirmed by experimental findings to be between 25.95 and 29.75 GHz. Broadsided far-field patterns and good MIMO parameters make the designed aerial appropriate for n257/n258 mm-wave 5 G communication bands.
