Analysis reveals fuel economy with expander-generator units in cogeneration systems, suggesting an optimal operational mode.
The paper analyzes the application features of the scheme with expander-generating units and gas heating in cogeneration boilers with gas piston internal combustion engines. The absence of a methodology for determining the optimal mode of operation of this circuit has been revealed, taking into account the effect of the expander and gas heating on the operation of the main equipment. For the considered scheme with expanders and preheating of gas, an optimization criterion is proposed and, based on this criterion, a mode of optimal functioning of this scheme at any given time is developed. For the cogeneration boiler house with internal combustion engines chosen as an example, the maximum fuel economy from the implemented heating control mode in a given air temperature range is estimated. It is shown that the greatest effect from the implementation of the proposed regime will be achieved at the lowest gas pressures.
