This thesis demonstrates the impact of flocculation on wastewater treatment in municipal waste transfer stations, suggesting potential improvements in efficiency.
This thesis investigates how to efficiently flocculate wastewater from municipal waste transfer stations. Firstly, the fluctuation of water quality indexes of the water samples of the municipal waste transfer station was detected and analyzed to understand the characteristics of the municipal waste transfer station sewage more deeply. Then eight single flocculants were used to treat the water samples, and the turbidity of the supernatant, chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen values were determined by controlling variables to determine the optimal concentration, the amount of the dosage and the settling time. The results of the study showed that inorganic flocculants have a certain flocculation effect on the sewage of municipal waste transfer station, but due to the small flocs, long flocculation time and changes in water color, it can’t be applied in the process of industrial wastewater treatment directly. The single organic flocculant could not be directly applied in industrial wastewater treatment due to its poor flocculation effect on the waste leachate.
