This study investigates library staff perceptions of adopting predictive AI tools for enhancing service delivery in public libraries, focusing on four key areas: perceived benefits, staff concerns, the influence of library culture, and the role of staff training. Data from focus groups in four Lagos libraries show that staff see AI improving efficiency, resource allocation, and user satisfaction. However, concerns include job displacement, privacy, and workload. Progressive library cultures were more open to AI, while training emerged as critical for successful adoption. The study concludes that clear communication and robust training are vital for addressing concerns and enabling effective implementation.
