This record identifies Amrasca Biguttula as an invasive pest in Central America, suggesting urgent control measures for affected crops.
We record for the first time the presence of the invasive Asian pest Amrasca biguttula (Ishida, 1913) (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) in Central America. Several specimens were obtained from an okra farm in the Choluteca Department, Honduras. We provide a diagnosis of the species and the damage it causes and review the literature for potential control strategies for several crop species.
