This analysis presents educational strategies to promote patriotism in Russia, suggesting measures against victimization and distortion of history.
The relevance of the research problem is justified by the fact that we live in a world where, as noted at the UN level, “no nation can consider itself invulnerable, but Russia is facing an unprecedented onslaught on its vital interests. The scientific novelty of the research problem is justified by the need to move away from the Western models of consumer society imposed on us and the need to revive the patriotic traditions of the education system. The purpose of this work is to analyze the theory and practice of fostering Russian patriotism in modern conditions, using specific examples of active resistance to the distortion of our history and the imposition of victimhood on Russians. The article makes an author’s attempt to highlight the problem of the features of victim behavior on the example of the past and the present. Victimology is a relatively young discipline that studies victimization, the causes and consequences of crimes, as well as the reaction of society to victims and their needs. Currently, the problems associated with it are stirring up the public, and they are becoming the subject of study by scientists of various scientific fields. The author believes that the so-called memorial war, which is a common occurrence in modern news feeds in our country, should be dealt with in accordance with the law. To achieve this, it is necessary to tighten the sanctions provided for in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for individuals, especially scholars and cultural figures, who deliberately present distorted facts about Russian history and foreign policy and discredit the actions of the government and the Russian army.
