Excavation uncovering ancient remains in Tirat Karmel, suggesting significant archaeological findings.
In October 2002, a trial excavation was conducted in the northeastern area of T irat Karmel (License No. B-261/2002; map ref. 19832/74080), following the exposure of ancient remains in the course of mechanical clearing and trial-trenching, prior to development work. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Zinman Institute of Archaeology at the University of Haifa, in cooperation with the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by the Ministry of Construction and Housing, was directed by M. Eisenberg (photography and metal detection) and I. Groman-Yaroslavsky, with the assistance of E. Bisharat (area supervision) and M. Ralbag (surveying and drafting).
