This review finds DPP-based covalent organic frameworks enhance energy storage and photocatalytic efficiency, suggesting new applications.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising materials for applications such as energy storage, lithium batteries, gas separation, and drug delivery. Diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)‐functionalized COFs have recently emerged as exciting materials with significant potential for optoelectronic applications owing to their unique properties, including extended π‐conjugation, broad light absorption, and enhanced photocatalytic activity. This review highlights recent developments in DPP‐based COFs, showcasing their improved light‐harvesting capabilities, iodine trapping, photocatalytic efficiency, and bioimaging potential. These COFs have demonstrated promise in energy storage, uranium reduction, and photothermal conversion, positioning them as transformative materials for sustainable energy and environmental solutions. With new materials and emerging applications, DPP‐based COFs are poised to become highly efficient advanced materials for practical use.
