The article presents Polish-Iranian cultural relations throughout history in a concise yet multifaceted manner, beginning with the shared Indo-European roots of the Slavic and Iranian peoples, as evidenced by linguistic studies, and ending in modern times. Although the cultural ties between Poland and the broadly defined Iranian world are ancient, they have never been particularly strong nor clearly recognised or appreciated by either side. Nevertheless, they do exist and, in certain periods, have gained in intensity. The author of the article identifies several such historical moments.
