Mixed-methods approach assesses psychological benefits and stress reduction in Haryana students, suggesting policy implications.
After discussing the physiological and psychological benefits of yoga for lowering stress and improving mental health, this paper presents an evidence-based study intended for Haryana schoolchildren. Adolescent stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms are on the rise, which makes scalable, low-cost therapies like yoga in schools appealing. Yoga programs have been shown to reduce physiological stress indicators (such as cortisol and heart-rate variability) as well as subjective stress and anxiety, according to systematic reviews and controlled studies. In light of recent state initiatives to include yoga in school curricula and reports of mental health issues among teenagers in Haryana, this paper suggests a mixed-methods cluster randomized study to assess results, outlines plausible mechanisms, and addresses implementation, constraints, and policy implications. A summary of the main conclusions from the literature is provided to support the study and guide its methods.
