Taxonomic review identifies seven new Libnetus species in Vietnam, highlighting biodiversity changes.
Seven new species of the genus Libnetus Waterhouse, 1878, L. belokobylskyi sp. nov., L. cucphuongensis sp. nov., L. medvedevi sp. nov., L. orlovi sp. nov., L. raotensis sp. nov., L. volucris sp. nov. and L. weigeli sp. nov., are described from Vietnam. Libnetus napolovi Kazantsev, 2017, syn. nov. is synonymised with L. tristis Pic, 1921. Libnetus laosensis Bocakova, 2000, previously known only from Laos, is reported from Vietnam for the first time. The total number of Libnetus species registered in Vietnam is thus raised to 15. A key to species is provided, along with a checklist of Libnetus of the country.
