Analysis recommends differentiated strategies to enhance food security and economic sovereignty across Russian regions.
The present study was conducted in the context of the strategic objective of strengthening the resource base of the regions of the Russian Federation, with a special focus on the development of the food system. The food system plays a crucial role in ensuring the socio-economic stability and security of the country. The study identified different types of regions depending on their level of food security. This classification necessitates the development of differentiated strategies aimed at strengthening the food sector in each specific region. As a result of a comprehensive study, the authors identified a unique characteristic of each region, on the basis of which key directions for optimizing the development of all sectors of agriculture were formulated. The measures proposed by the authors are based on the principles of state regulation and coordination of agricultural producers' efforts. At the same time, the peculiarities of development and economic specialization of each region in the field of agricultural production are taken into account, which has become a determining factor in developing a strategy to strengthen resource potential. The algorithm proposed by the authors, based on cluster analysis and taking into account the volume of production and sale of agricultural products, is aimed at forming a competitive agricultural sector of the economy. The article outlines strategies designed to strengthen the resource potential of the agricultural sector and ensure food security, taking into account the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of each region. The implementation of the proposed strategies for optimizing agricultural production will create conditions for increasing its efficiency, as well as allow for the rational use of available resources. As a result of these measures, it is expected to improve the socio-economic indicators of the regions and strengthen the economic sovereignty of the country as a whole.
