Research reveals photocatalytic H2O2 production in pure water without a sacrificial agent, suggesting enhanced COF performance.
The Cover Feature shows the photocatalytic production of H2O2 from water and air, the current rate of which needs to be greatly improved to meet the requirements of industry. In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/cssc.202500624), Z. Wang and co-workers present three new polarity-enhanced porous COFs with excellent visible-light-catalytic performance for H2O2 synthesis. In pure water under O2 without any sacrificial agent, the COF decorated with sulfone and cyano groups shows an H2O2 production rate of 7613 μmol h−1 g−1 with good recyclability. The structural influences on the photocatalytic performance and mechanism are revealed through theoretical calculations and comparative experiments.
