This approach enhances data readiness for AI applications using visual analytics, highlighting key data quality issues.
This paper presents a structured approach to enhancing data readiness for artificial intelligence applications by systematically integrating visual analytics methods into the data evaluation pipeline. By extending existing data readiness frameworks to explicitly incorporate temporal and textual data characteristics, we create a comprehensive mapping between critical data quality assessment tasks and tailored visualization techniques. The approach is validated through multi-year case studies involving heterogeneous, real-world datasets, where visual exploration facilitates the detection of data flaws, distribution shifts, and input-output relationships essential for trustworthy AI solutions. Our findings highlight the pivotal role of targeted visualizations for uncovering latent data issues, informing model tuning, and building stakeholder trust throughout the AI development lifecycle. This work sets a foundation for embedding visualization as a core, practical instrument in data-centric AI workflows, promoting improved decision-making and more reliable machine learning outcomes.
