Analysis unearths the role of broadsides in restoring Jewish community in Amsterdam, highlighting religious and cultural efforts.
For survivors of the Shoah in 1945 Amsterdam, broadsides or single-sheet prints, such as proclamations and circular letters, had an important disseminating function. It is a first attempt to demonstrate the significance of looking at this type of source for the liminal early post-war period.
