The article investigates cost and efficiency of 2,4,5-T applications for culling trees in woodlands, indicating potential improvements.
The use of 2,4,5-T for deadening cull and weed trees has been widely acclaimed, yet woodland owners in the central hardwood region have been slow to adopt the use of 2,4,5-T for this purpose. The uncertainty that exists with respect to the formulation and application of the compound and the frequently high cost of currently recommended practices are partly responsible for this situation. This article compares the efficiency of several applications and suggests a possible means of reducing the cost.
