Nutrition during childhood has an impact on human development and health throughout life. This period, which goes from birth to five years of age, is the period in which children develop their food preferences, and it is up to the family to encourage healthy practices. From this perspective, this study's main objective is to identify the influence of nutrition in early childhood as a preventive strategy against the development of chronic inflammatory diseases in adulthood. The methodology used was the literature review method. The bibliographic survey began in August 2024, with searches on the Scientific Electronic Lib ra ry Online (SciELO), Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Google Scholar platforms, using the descriptors: Nutrition; Early childhood; Preventive strategies; Nutritional assistance, in Portuguese and English, these being Nutrition; Early childhood; Preventive strategies; Nutritional assistance, respectively, in the period from 2019 to 2024. In this sense, nutritional deficiencies in early childhood are guides for the predisposition to the development of chronic inflammatory diseases in adulthood. Preventing these deficiencies through adequate and balanced nutrition can ensure long-term health and reduce the burden of chronic diseases in the population. It is concluded that raising awareness about the importance of adequate nutrition results in the promotion of healthy eating habits that contribute to reducing the incidence of diseases linked to chronic inflammatory processes. This can result in a healthier adult population, relieving the burden on the public health system.
