Several historical episodes of Turks during periods of climatic extremes have been examined. In particular, several key dates (536–537, 627, 1259, 1783, and 1884) mark significant periods of anomalous climatic and meteorological upheavals of pan-Eurasian and global importance. The role of epidemiological factors in political, social, and economic events in the lives of nomadic civilizations has also been highlighted. The conclusion drawn is that climatic and ecological conditions had a significant influence on the history of the nomadic peoples of the Great Steppe and Kazakhstan.
