Objective: This study aimed to investigate the expression pattern of ALDOC in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and to assess its potential as a prognostic marker. Methods: Data for this study were derived from the public databases TCGA and GTEx. Based on the expression levels of ALDOC in different age groups, the impact of ALDOC expression on the prognosis of AML patients was evaluated using univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses, in conjunction with Kaplan-Meier survival curves. Bioinformatics methods were also employed to explore the possible mechanisms of ALDOC action in AML. Results: A significant difference in the expression of the metabolic gene ALDOC was found between AML patients and normal individuals (P < 0.05). ALDOC was identified as a prognostic marker for patients under the age of 60. Bioinformatics analysis suggested that high expression of ALDOC could upregulate pathways involved in allograft rejection, response to IFN-α, response to IFN-γ, and phagocytosis, particularly indicating a poorer prognosis in patients under the age of 60. Conclusion: High expression of ALDOC is associated with poor prognosis in AML patients under the age of 60, and ALDOC may serve as a marker for AML prognosis and a promising potential therapeutic target for further research.
