Adverse endothelial shear stress metrics in eroded plaques are linked to higher local T-cell infiltration.
Observational

Ahmed et al. (2024) conducted an observational in Acute coronary syndromes with coronary plaque erosion. High-risk endothelial shear stress (ESS) metrics was evaluated on Numbers of local T cells and subsets. In eroded plaques, low endothelial shear stress, high ESS gradient, and steepness of plaque topographical slope were associated with increased numbers of local T cells.
