In this work we report for the first time in Brazil the occurrence of carambola fruit fly Bactrocera carambolae Drew & Hancock, 1994 (Diptera: Tephritidae) in fruits of Carica papaya L., from samples collected in the municipalities of Almeirim, state of Pará, and Mazagão, state of Amapá.
