Working in general practice requires clinicians to make treatment decisions based on electrocardiogram (ECG) findings together with clinical symptoms. This article provides an overview of the basic principles of interpreting an ECG and the clinical presentations commonly encountered in general practice. The article aims to equip GPs with the necessary knowledge and skills to confidently identify common ECG abnormalities and make informed decisions regarding patient care.
