The article highlights the current state of the problem of individual’s self-actualization in the context of decision-making. The research of domestic and foreign scientists on the essence of the concept of individual’s self-actualization and approaches to its study are summarized. The issue of professional self-actualization was the matter of research; the focus of choice and decision-making was analyzed as a factor in the development of self-actualization in the process of professional development. It has been found out that the structural elements of the model of self-actualization of the individual are traditionally are seen as characteristics that can be grouped into four classes: those that reflect the internal attitude to the world (orientation in time, value orientations, the need for knowledge), attitude to oneself (self-understanding, autosympathy), to others (view of human nature) and own personality properties that characterize a self-actualized personality (contact, flexibility in communication, creative attitude to life, autonomy, spontaneity). The concept of determination is analyzed as an integral property of the individual, which encompasses different-level qualities of the individual that function in the process of choice and decision-making, and determination decisiveness, which is a property of the will and at the same time a component of determination at the stage of implementation of the decision. The results of the correlation analysis are presented, which demonstrate the presence of significant positive and negative relationships between indicators of self-actualization and decisiveness of the individual. With the help of qualitative data analysis (the method of aces and profiles), three types of decision-making were determined, which are characterized by a monomodal (clear advantage of only one of the indicators) type of decisiveness. It was revealed that the representatives of each group of persons (in this case, in our sample: the dominance of only one indicator, or dogmatism, or adventurousness, or assertiveness) are characterized by a certain set of indicators of self-actualization peculiar only to them, which made it possible to reveal their similarities and differences. Attention was focused on the individual psychological characteristics of the representatives of each group, which differ in the type of decisiveness; their psychological portraits of self-actualization are defined and described. It has been proven that one of the important factors of self-actualization can be considered the peculiarities of decisiveness as a leading characteristic of a person’s decision-making.
