A new berry-fruited Begonia in section Platycentrum (Begoniaceae) from Arunachal Pradesh, Northeast India is described here based on morphological and molecular evidence. The new species shows close phenotypic affinities with B. silletensis and B. aborensis. A detailed description is provided along with coloured photo plates, comparison with its closely allied taxa, distribution map and provisional conservation status. The systematic position is also established herein among the closely allied taxa based on ITS2 sequences.
