Empathetic abilities have always thought to be linked with prosocial ideas and possibly, the inauguration of entrepreneurial social events which are targeted at benefitting the ones in need. However, the exact link between these two variables is still ambiguous. Therefore, this review aimed to scrutinize their link among the cross-sectional survey-based studies to further elucidate the nature of this relationship. We started by giving some background on the definitions of entrepreneurship and empathy. Then, we provide an exhaustive account of the history of works which studied this relationship. Subsequently, we compare all these previous studies and synthesize the congruent data in the papers with consistent statistics. Finally, we summarize the conclusions which might be inferred from the related literature and give some recommendations for future researchers.
