Recycling discarded concrete into recycled aggregates is a very environmentally friendly construction waste disposal method. However, recycled aggregates have performance defects such as low strength and high permeability. The use of carbon dioxide (CO2) mineralization to regenerate aggregates can effectively solve this problem, while also effectively sequestering carbon. However, the durability of concrete made using CO2 mineralized recycled aggregates instead of natural aggregates still needs further research. This article summarizes and analyzes the current research on the durability of CO2 enhanced recycled aggregate concrete, and finds that most of the current research focuses on its chloride ion permeability, while research on its carbonation durability is extremely rare. Therefore, this article analyzes the adverse factors of CO2 mineralized recycled aggregate concrete in terms of carbonation durability and provides suggestions for further research.
