This paper presents a systematic study and design approach for counter-rotating propellers (CRPs) specifically tailored for hydrofoil ships. By utilizing extensive computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, the research explores the hydrodynamic characteristics and performance benefits of CRPs. These propellers enhance propulsive efficiency in hydrofoil vessels, offering advantages such as increased speed and reduced fuel consumption. The study evaluates key design parameters, including propeller diameters, spacing, blade count, and advance ratios. CRPs also contribute to improved maneuverability, reducing steering effort and enhancing control, particularly in confined spaces. Simulations demonstrate their crucial role in minimizing noise and vibration, thus improving overall comfort. The findings highlight the potential of CRPs to redefine efficiency, maneuverability, and passenger comfort in advanced hydrofoil ship design.
