Abstract A new Humic acid-based nanomagnetic copper(II) composite was prepared and used as an eco-friendly recoverable catalyst for the synthesis of 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles via the three-component click reaction of alkyl halide, sodium azide, and terminal alkyne in good to excellent yield. A simple magnetic copper acetate composite preparation using humic acid, Fe3O4@HA-Cu(OAc)2, was reported and characterized by SEM, TEM, XRD, EDX, VSM, AAS, and FT-IR. The catalyst shows high catalytic potential in a one-pot three-component click reaction for synthesizing 1,2,3-triazoles. The nanomagnetic Fe3O4@HA-Cu(OAc)2 demonstrates highly efficient, stable, compatible with oxygen/water and recyclable copper (II), and cost-effectiveness advantages catalyst. An external magnetic field easily recovers the catalyst, and therefore, time and energy are saved since no filtration or decantation technique was needed. According to high dispersibility in water, nanomagnetic Fe3O4@HA-Cu(OAc)2 can be utilized as a highly efficient catalyst.
