The thoracic erector spinae plane block (ESPB) has been frequently utilized for postoperative analgesia after thoracic surgeries and multiple posterolateral rib fractures. Through case series, the cervical ESPB has been demonstrated as an alternative to interscalene block for proximal humerus surgeries. In 30 patients, we illustrated the utility of cervical ESPB for making the patient supine from the painful sitting position, perioperative reduction of opioids, motor sparing below the elbow, and diaphragm-sparing ability.
