The Cover Feature shows the hydridic hydrogen bond complex (Cp)(CO)₂RuH⋅⋅⋅ICF₃ (left) and the standard hydrogen bond complex IH⋅⋅⋅S(CH₂)₂ (right). Despite the different directions and natures of charge transfer, various characteristics (stabilization energy, red shift of X−H stretching frequency) of the two complexes are similar. The only difference is the dominant energy term: in the former complex, it is the dispersion term, whereas in the latter, it is the electrostatic term.
