Objectives This study aimed to explore the mediating effect of Mediating effect of Materialism and social comparison in the relationship between Self-concept clarity and Parenting Anxiety of Parents with Infants and Children. Methods From January 15, 2024 to February 6, 2024, 387 Parents with Infants and Children who voluntarily participated in the study collected survey data on variables related to self-concept clarity, materialism, social comparison and anxiety of parents. after collected survey data, descriptive statistics analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and mediating effect analysis were performed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 25.0 programs, and bootstrapping was performed to verify the significance of indirect effects. Results The main research finding were as follow: First, self-concept clarity, materialism, social comparison and anxiety of parents showed correlation. Second, the mediating effect of social comparison was confirmed in the relationship between self-concept clarity and anxiety of parents. Third, the double mediating effect of materialism and social comparison was confirmed in the relationship between self-concept clarity and anxiety of parents. Conclusions This study can be used to help understand the relationship between self-concept clarity, materialism, social comparison and anxiety of parents, and to understand and intervene in counseling directions and therapeutic directions.
