In the article, the author will continue to consider topical issues of the genesis of prosecutorial supervision over the observance of labor rights of citizens in Russia in the 20st–21st centuries. Highlighting the determinants of the development of this method of protecting the labor rights of citizens, the author concludes that an essential feature of the prosecutor’s supervision of the observance of labor rights is the fact that that from the very beginning, the prosecutor’s office was provided with procedural rights to protect the right to work. In the Soviet period of history, these rights were not only confirmed, but also expanded from the point of view of the powers of the prosecutor both to initiate the relevant trial and to enter into the already begun process.
