Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) remain the leading cause of global mortality, highlighting the importance of prevention as a public health strategy. This article reviews the role of vitamins in preventing CVD, analyzing recent scientific evidence and its applicability in clinical practice. The literature review addresses the most studied vitamins, such as vitamin D, vitamin E and B complex, correlating their action with the reduction of cardiovascular risk factors. The study adopts a systematic review methodology, analyzing articles published between 2018 and 2023. The results indicate that vitamin supplementation can have a significant role in preventing CVD, although effectiveness varies depending on the vitamin and the patients' clinical conditions. Analysis of the data suggests that while some vitamins have clear benefits, others require further study to draw definitive conclusions. This article concludes that vitamin supplementation, when applied appropriately, can be a useful tool in preventing CVD, however, caution and individualization are recommended in its prescription.
