Pediatric cervical spinal injury (CSI) remains a significant concern following blunt trauma, with mortality rates as high as 48%. Current protocols involve cervical immobilization and clearance through multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) scans, followed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or clinical examination. However, prolonged collar use poses risks, necessitating timely clearance. This study assessed the efficacy of MDCT in pediatric CSI clearance.
