Enhancing Documentary Narratives: The impact of animation on viewer engagement and comprehension

The use of animation has become a popular medium for creatively expressing information and entertainment, often employed to narrate real-life experiences.It is widely used in various fields such as filmmaking, medical or mathematical animations, illustration, game development, and visual effects creation.This medium utilizes motion pictures, graphics, sound, and other elements to communicate concepts.However, the effectiveness of incorporating animation into traditional documentary films was not well understood.To explore this, a documentary study was conducted to determine whether animation in documentaries effectively conveys the intended messages.A two fold survey was administered to students from the Design department at CIT Kokrajhar, who represent future practitioners, to gauge their perceptions of animation as a presentation medium.
